paralegal salaries

Paralegal salaries in the US range on average from $33,000 for those starting out, to $45,000 or so for experienced paralegals.

Paralegals with 3 years experience are quite sought after. Those with 10 or more years experience do not earn pay commensurate with their additional experience.

New York, Florida, California, Texas, Illinois, Georgia and New Jersey have the most paralegals and salaries in each of those states are remarkably similar.

There is little data for self-employed paralegals although I am in the midst of compiling a small study for various US cities.

If you are a paralegal looking for information on compensation, or you are thinking of becoming a paralegal, you might find my 9 page report interesting. It is on a business opportunity for paralegals that lets you make money in the field but not limited by the hours you work or the rates you charge. See litigation funding — is it a good business opportunity to pursue for more details. The report tells how paralegals can get into the litigation funding area which is quite attractive right now and perfect for those people who want to work from home and free themselves from the requirements of constantly finding new legal work. Please enter your information here and I'll give you instant access to the report. I never share your information with anyone.
